Natural conditions for quality trout

Sirdalen is known for its clean production of hydropower. This clear and cold mountain water from the Sirdal highlands provides a natural starting point for the development of our trout. With true passion for the craft and a unique focus on detail, we today produce the most slowly growing trout in the world.

In the regulated waterway in Sirdalen, renewable energy has already been produced before the water is used again for trout production. Lake Sirdalsvatnet maintains an average temperature of 6 degrees, as the power plants draw their intake water from the bottom of the ice-cold mountain lakes in the Sirdal highlands.

Produced in a UNESCO Magma Geopark area that promotes sustainable production.
